Bush Still Leads

Sometimes it's great to be right (pun intended). Anyway, a Washington Post poll shows Bush retaining the lead. The poll, conducted Friday through Sunday and averaged, shows Bush with a 5 point lead over Kerry. I believe earlier I said that the Kerry debate performance, while impressive interms of comparing Kerry to Kerry, would not amount to much. Think about it...most of us have accepted the reality that Kerry more or less won, that Bush could have done better, and yet, Bush is still ahead. Granted there are other polls (such as the CNNUSATodayGallopFooBarWhatever) which show the two candidates in a statistical dead heat. Keep watching the polls, and remember, Dick Morris once said (paraphrasing here) that an incumbent doing 50/50 with the opponent is doing better than the opponent at 50/50.
